Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has revealed he came close to joining Premier League rivals Everton during the summer.
The 31-year-old was linked with a summer exit from the Emirates after falling down the pecking order under Arsene Wenger.
However, the France international ended up staying put and has found the back of the net twice so far this season for the Gunners.
But, speaking to Canal Plus, Giroud explained how he held advanced talks with Everton before deciding to remain in north London.
“I had the opportunity to leave [Arsenal]. I was very close to another English club, Everton,” Giroud said.
“But I think I made the best choice.”
